Governance & structure
The Yukon Territory does not operate as a separate stand-alone state council. It is governed together with British Columbia as the unified BC & Yukon State Council, which coordinates more than 130 parish-based councils and represents thousands of Catholic men across Western Canada.
For liturgical and pastoral life, Yukon's Catholics are served within dioceses and eparchies whose territories extend into the North — for example, the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of New Westminster, which spans BC, the Yukon, and parts of the Northwest Territories. Local Knights support pastors and parishes within these ecclesiastical boundaries.
What we do in the Yukon
- Community support — Food drives, family assistance, and outreach where parishes and members see need.
- Education — Participation in state programs such as bursaries through the BC & Yukon State Council Foundation, helping students pursue post-secondary studies.
- Parish life — Volunteering, fundraising, and practical help for churches in smaller northern centres, including Whitehorse and missions across the territory.
- Fraternal benefits — Through the Order's insurance and financial products, families can access member-owned protection designed for Catholic households (offered by licensed brother agents).
